Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week is May 1-7, 2016!
“Healthy Families, Resilient Children: Mental Health is a Family Affair”
To broaden our statewide reach, we are encouraging volunteers to hold Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week (CMHAW) events in their communities.
Ideas for Community Events:
*setting up a display outside of the grocery store for an hour
*giving a presentation at the library
*setting up a display at a local church
*asking your mayor to sign a proclamation about designating one of those days as Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day
*organizing a mental health fair in collaboration with other agencies and organizations
*organizing an awareness event or program with a school
*anything else that would work in your community to get the word out!
The main purpose for these community events is to raise awareness for the one in five children who are affected with a mental health disorder.
We don’t want you to do this alone! We want to offer you technical assistance (help in planning and carrying out) with the event.
If you are interested in joining forces with us to spread awareness about children’s mental health, please fill out the form and mail/scan/fax it to us, or simply go to our website and fill out the form and someone from Federation of Families of SC will be in touch with you!
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Fill out this form.
OR, fill out this form and return it to us.
2. Read this CMHAW 2016 Toolkit.
