Focusing on Protective Factors Part 2

Custodial & Noncustodial Parents/Formerly Incarcerated Parents/Parent Educators are encouraged to join in on the discussion: “Enhancing Protective Factors is Critical in Addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences.”
The Focusing on Protective Factors is a 2-part training session and attendees must attend both sessions.
- Part 1: November 10th & 12th: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Part 2: November 17th & 19th: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Goals:
- To protect children through approaches that encourage the enrichment of relationships between parents, and between parents and their children.
- To develop the nurturing capabilities of noncustodial parents and improve the relationship between custodial and noncustodial parents.
- To address substance use among parents.
- To promote safe and stable families.
- To connect ex-offenders to training programs, work opportunities, and entrepreneurships.
Projected Outcomes
- A safe and secure environment for children with expectations of pro-social behaviors.
- Formal and informal supports to serve as role models and mentors.
- The development and practice of positive behavioral interventions and supports.
- Amicable co-parenting between custodial and noncustodial parents.
- Establishing and maintaining sources of income.
