As part of Project COPE through the Federation of Families of SC, we will be offering a Respite Care Support Service. This will take place on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. There will be two groups separated by Middle School and High School students so that we can tailor the respite care to their environments. Due to COVID-19, this service will be adjusted to take place virtually. We will try our best to give the caretakers a break during a challenging time by engaging their youth on a Virtual App called Microsoft Teams. Even though it is online, our service will provide a safe, fun, and warm environment that will act as a “home away from home” while at home. We hope to do this by offering entertaining games to help create a sense of social interaction along with self-care activities to promote emotional wellness. This service is created to give caretakes a break and we strongly encourage it because “you deserve it.”
